"In 2009, I, as a member of the Singapore Medical Association Council, and our pro bono lawyers, lost a two year battle with the Competition Commission of Singapore to retain the guideline on fees, for the benefit of patients. I deeply felt that knowledge of the law is essential to navigate policy and professional issues in an ever-changing world. Thanks to my professors in the J.D. programme, my coursemates and pupil master, I became a lawyer. Now, I utilise my legal knowledge for the benefit of my professional colleagues, and as an Associate Mediator for the Singapore Mediation Centre and Ministry of Health Holdings."
