Introduction

The School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) at the Singapore Management University (SMU) is collaborating with The School of International Corporate Strategy (ICS) at Hitotsubashi University to offer our MITB students an enhanced academic and authentic global study experience via postgraduate student exchange at Hitotsubashi ICS. Upon graduation, you will receive a degree from SMU as well as transcripts reflecting the courses taken at Hitotsubashi University.

Selection and Nomination Requirements

Students who have fulfilled the following criteria may apply:

  1. Have completed at least one term of your studies at MITB;
  2. Have obtained at least a cGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 before the academic exchange;
  3. Have a minimum of 2 years of work experience;
  4. Have good academic and disciplinary standing at MITB;
  5. Possess the personality and charisma to represent SMU as an ambassador

Responsibilities of Exchange Students and Scope of Exchange ProgrammeTuition Fee

  1. MITB students are required to enroll in Hitotsubashi ICS MBA programme for one term to take up 6 Credit Units (~3 courses)
  2. Exchange students will continue to pay tuition fee at MITB and no tuition fee will be charged at Hitotsubashi ICS. However, exchange students are responsible for all other expenses which include but are not limited to living costs (accommodation, meals and other related expenses), passport and visa costs, healthcare and insurance costs and other personal costs (books, clothing, necessities, entertainment, transportation and other related expenses).
  3. Exchange Students will be expected to strictly abide by the laws and customs of Japan and by the policies and regulations of Hitotsubashi ICS MBA programme.

Application and Nomination

  1. The MITB Office will send out an email invitation to eligible students during the month of January of each calendar year for students to submit their applications.
  2. The MITB Office reserves the right to nominate students that best fit the requirements of the exchange programme at Hitotsubashi ICS
  3. As seats are limited, nomination by MITB Office does not guarantee acceptance by Hitotsubashi University. The final decision on student acceptance for the postgraduate exchange admissions lies with Hitotsubashi University.
