Introduction

The School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) at the Singapore Management University (SMU) is collaborating with the School of Mahidol University International College (MUIC) to offer top students from MUIC the opportunity to obtain admission to SMU’s Master of IT in Business (MITB) programme via the MUIC-SMU MITB Direct Admission Programme.

Course Structure

MUIC graduates who are keen on pursuing an intensive MITB programme will study 15 Course Units (CUs) in one year under one of the four MITB tracks (Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, Digital Transformation or Financial Technology & Analytics). Completion of these 15 CUs at SMU with a combined minimum GPA of 2.5 will result in the student being awarded the SMU MITB degree.

Admission Criteria

For MUIC Graduates:

Admission to the SMU MITB Programme is based on the following terms which may be amended from time to time, as deemed appropriate by SMU based on current admission requirements of the SMU MITB Programme or as otherwise previously informed by SMU:

  • a MUIC undergraduate degree with GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or equivalent;
  • GMAT/ GRE or SMU Admissions Test score;
  • minimum IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL score of 90;
  • an admission interview;
  • resume/cv;
  • personal statement;
  • recommendation letters;
  • requirement for two years of working experience will be waived (Except for Digital Transformation track where a minimum of 3 years is preferred)

Graduation Criteria

To graduate, students will need to fulfil all required CUs as stipulated by SMU's MITB programme while maintaining a minimum CGPA of 2.5 every term to be awarded the SMU MITB degree.
