Under the MITB internship module, Ankit started interning at Citibank with the Project Management office in the Consumer Banking Space. His team managed key projects at the bank and was responsible for the infrastructure delivery of the projects and programmes.
Having prior working experience in IT Infrastructure Technology for 3.5 years, the internship became a logical extension of his previous work experience and learning journey at SMU. The team manager offered him the position of Project Manager at the same office during his 4th month of internship.
Ankit’s internship began early in the course and hence, he could apply his newfound knowledge into his job as a Project Manager. He faced initial challenges as he had to relate to the day-to-day issues of managing people in addition to playing a functional role, but overcame them well.
