Biography
As an SMU-SCIS undergraduate in 2008, Kian Wee was first exposed to business analytics through the analytics-related course modules offered by SCIS-SMU. That sparked an interest in him to actively pursue opportunities in data mining and business analytics.
After graduation from SMU with a BSc (Information Systems Management), he joined Great Eastern Life Assurance Co Ltd where he was involved in the deployment of an Enterprise Data Warehouse and Customer Relationship Management System.
Attracted to the MITB-Analytics programme for its high relevance to his work, Kian Wee chose to return to his alma mater to join the pioneer batch of the MITB programme.
What Kian Wee likes about the MITB programme is its intellectually-stimulating courses and seminar style learning environment, which makes the learning experience both pleasant and fulfilling. Having classmates from sectors such as healthcare, transportation and logistics, hospitality, social networking, retail, public sector and finance helped create a platform for networking and cross pollination of knowledge.
“Through the lively classroom interactions and project works, I managed to foster ties with many of my classmates” says Kian Wee.
