Having gone through the undergraduate route at SMU’s School of Computing and Information Systems, Edwin decided to take up the MITB (Analytics) programme to learn more about analytics and its real world applications to better serve businesses.
During the capstone project module of the programme, Edwin consolidated knowledge across the disciplines and built optimisation models in the SMU-DHL Green Transformation Lab. These models were designed to improve capacity rates and shipping methods along with a “green” component in reducing shipping carbon emissions.
Following his graduation, he successfully clinched a role as a Management Associate with Fung Group, an export trading and global supply chain Management Company. He believes that it was his understanding of the competitive advantage provided by analytics and his ability to communicate its applications to the company's current business portfolio that gave him the edge.
