I started my career as a project engineer in the construction industry. Recognising the need to adapt to the rapidly evolving job market and future-proof my career, I enrolled in the Master of IT in Business (Artificial Intelligence) programme where I can acquire skills and knowledge to transition into the field of data science and analytics.
My MITB journey has been profoundly meaningful and rewarding. The faculty's expertise is commendable, often challenging us with rigorous assignments and compelling us to deliver data projects within tight deadlines. The rigorous curriculum not only honed my technical acumen but also instilled vital project management skills. Interacting with like-minded peers from diverse backgrounds further enhanced my learning experience and kept me motivated throughout the journey.
I am grateful for the support and guidance provided by MITB professors. Under the mentorship of Professors Tan Kar Way and Sean Lam, I undertook a healthcare capstone project utilising SAS Enterprise Miner. Their mentorship was instrumental in navigating the complexities of the project successfully. I also enjoyed Prof Dai Bing Tian’s classes, where he adeptly demystified intricate AI concepts in an engaging and comprehensible manner, often infusing humor to make the learning process enjoyable.
To prospective students, I highly recommend considering the MITB programme as a pivotal stepping stone in advancing your skills in data science and analytics or transitioning into a new career trajectory in data-related fields. While the journey may pose its share of challenges, it will undoubtedly yield fruitful results.
