The reason why I pursued the SMU Master of IT in Business (MITB) Analytics programme was to upskill my data analytical skills with my background in statistics. What makes SMU different is that students are developed holistically and trained to be industry-ready, in addition to a rigorous academic curriculum. With the guidance of Professor Michelle Cheong, our team’s paper (ID 852: Singapore Airlines: Profit Recovery and Aircraft Allocation Models during the COVID-19 Pandemic) was accepted for presentation and publication at the 11th Annual International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) held in Singapore on March 7-11, 2021. Through professional development workshops, I have acquired leadership skills not taught in classrooms. The guidance and support provided by the SMU Postgraduate Career Services have also helped me land a full-time job here in Singapore.
I attended the SMU Masters Roadshow in Manila back in 2020, and joining the MITB programme was one of the best decisions that I have made. SMU offers the Richard Lim Lee Scholarship that provides financial support for eligible Filipino students pursuing the MITB programme, and it is such a great honour to be awarded the Richard Lim Lee Scholarship to pursue my postgraduate studies as an international student.
