My interest in Data analytics had piqued from a Business Intelligence class I took during my Bachelor's studies when my professor illustrated how we can use a large amount of unstructured data to draw useful insights that aid effective and informed decision making. The idea that Data science can function as a novel approach to solving complex business problems or a way to reveal new opportunities for businesses enthralled me greatly. Such first insight into how computer engineers approach real-world problems incited me to delve deeper into the field and led me to pursue MITB Analytics program at SMU.
Through MITB, I've had the opportunity to hone my skills in various successful data analytics assignments. The projects and assignments in all the modules showed me what effective use of Data Sciences could achieve.
My internship experience at Eastern Health Alliance showed me how the innovative application of data analytical concepts can have a huge impact in the real-world. During the internship, I had regular presentations with different stakeholders at EHA which helped me better understand the healthcare domain. These interactions helped me to tackle the issue of multi-faceted interpretations of the problem analysis at different levels of the organization.
The internship experience augmented my data visualization skills on how complex analysis can be represented by comprehensible forms that are easy to understand and assimilate by the business user.
I'm currently working at Google as a Data analyst for Google Play Marketing where my responsibilities are to derive actionable insights which aid in making strategic decisions for building external brand partnerships.
MITB provided me with a solid foundation in Data Analytics enabling me to learn and consistently move up my career ladder. The members of Faculty at MITB are one of the most experienced in the field of analytics and provided us the best quality of education whilst covering the large spectrum of the field within a year.
I would highly recommend this program to prospective students as it introduces them to the best of both worlds, the ever-changing Technology and the Business world. MITB has helped me build a career starting with a job in my dream company and I know it will do so for its future students.
