My path to SMU MITB was not linear, and I was excited to see where the road would take me. Without prior experience in technical subjects, I was looking to challenge myself and pick up a new domain–data analytics. I chose SMU MITB for its strong presence in the region and had expectations for an interesting analytics curriculum which focused on business applicability.
MITB was intense with every module designed with group projects and exams to enhance our learning journey. A highlight of MITB was the opportunity to work on a Capstone project.
For my Capstone project, I designed a hedonic pricing model to understand and describe the effects of upgrading property on the value of real estate. The objective of the Capstone project was to identify the factors and characteristics which would influence property resale pricing. With the guidance of Professor Kam Tin Seong, we utilized SAS Viya for data visualization and model analysis.
After graduating from SMU MITB, I accepted a position at Citibank International Personal Bank (IPB) Singapore under their Associate Programme. As a Citibank IPB Associate, I have had the opportunity to learn and contribute across diverse business units, such as Business Intelligence, Strategic Alliance, and Wealth Management.
