While scouting around for an institution to help further her insights in applying IT into financial services, Zhou Yu chose SMU’s MITB over other institutions including the University of Cambridge (UK).
Zhou Yu enjoyed the blended learning of the MITB curriculum which combines online and in-class instructions, experiential learning through hands-on lab exercises and case analysis developed from actual business cases.
Her six-month MITB internship with a management consulting firm exposed her to a real-life project of Internet banking implementation. During the internship project, she learnt how to discover pain points from her clients’ perspective, propose cost-effective solutions and deliver a convincing business case.
“The experience has been beneficial and has boosted my confidence to deal with complexity, sharpened my analytical skills and enhanced my teamwork and leadership attributes.” said Zhou Yu.
