Why did you choose SMU and the MSA programme?
I chose the MSA programme because I realised that a deep understanding of data was crucial for my role in Finance Business Partnering. The unique aspect of SMU’s programme is its teaching of analytics from an accounting perspective, which perfectly aligned with my professional goals.
How has the experience benefited you?
The programme significantly benefited me by opening doors to data analytics opportunities, notably when I was awarded the UOB-MSA scholarship and secured a position at a local bank. Beyond that, I also treasure the lasting friendships I’ve forged with like-minded individuals through the programme.
What advice would you give to someone considering a Masters?
Start planning your time from day one to balance work, personal life, and academic commitments effectively. This proactive approach will help prevent last minute stress. Additionally, invest in building your professional network and making new friends during the programme; these connections can greatly enhance your career journey!
